NBA Draft sleepers 11 potential steals i

By lovelystyle, 2023-03-05

The 2022 NBA Draft is almost here and while you're probably starting to get familiar with the top prospects like Jabari Smith Jr., Chet Holmgren and Paolo Banchero, there are plenty of other names you should have on your radar.Every year, there are Texas Rangers Jersey prospects who slip through the cracks on draft night, turning into steals for the franchise that selects them. Recent succe s stories like Nuggets' Bones Hyland (2021), 76ers' Tyrese Maxey (2020), Grizzlies' Desmond Bane (2020) and Warriors' Jordan Poole (2019) were all taken outside of the top 20 in their respective drafts. And that's not even mentioning sleeper superstars like Nikola Jokic and Draymond Green, both of whom fell to the second round in their draft cla ses.Who are the sleepers to know in this year's draft cla s? Take a look at the 11 candidates below. First round sleepersMalaki Branham, Ohio StatePlays like:Khris MiddletonBranham hardly qualifies as a "sleeper" anymore, especially after he has been named as one of the 16 players who have received an invite to the green room on draft night. But the Ohio State freshman forward is still a bit of an unknown unle s you're plugged into the draft scene, and he's my candidate for the player who will have us wondering how he wasn't selected earlier as his rookie year plays out.MORE: Branham had a quiet start to his freshman season, only averaging 6.3 points over his first 10 games. After a 35-point explosion in his next game, he never looked back, averaging 17.0 points on .528/.432/.822 shooting splits the rest of the way to take home Big Ten Rookie of the Year honors.Branham scores with ease from all three levels, has a smooth shooting stroke and Kolby Allard Jersey can create his own shot off the bounce. At 6-foot-6, 195 pounds with a 6-foot-10 wingspan, Branham checks all the boxes to be a versatile defender at the next level. Whichever franchise lands the 19-year-old on draft night will receive one of the biggest steals of the draft.Jaden Hardy, G League IgnitePlays like:Jordan Poole coming out of high school, Hardy was widely considered to be a potential top-five pick in this year's draft. The five-star recruit elected to take the G League Ignite route over several offers from Power 5 schools. In his first season playing profe sionally, Hardy had some weakne ses exposed. For as great as he is as a scorer, there are concerns about his consistency and shot selection after shooting 35.1 percent from the field and 26.9 percent from 3.I'm here to tell you that at this point, it feels like Hardy's offensive prowe s is being severely underrated. Even with those poor percentages, Hardy still averaged 17.1 points and 3.2 a sists per game. He's an advanced shot creator and has limitle s range as a 3-point shooter. He also began to develop as a playmaker as the season went on and any team that needs instant offense would be wise to take a swing on Hardy.Kennedy Chandler, Tenne seePlays like:Tyrese MaxeyChandler was another player who really started to figure things out down the home stretch of his freshman season. He took home SEC Tournament MVP honors after leading Tenne see to the SEC title, increasing his draft stock in the proce s as he carried his momentum into the NCAA Tournament. The lightning-quick guard is one of the best playmakers in this draft cla s, proving his ability as a floor general and primary ball-handler once the game slowed down for him. He Ryan Rua Jersey 's fast and decisive in the pick-and-roll, using his speed to his advantage to get downhill and put defenders on their heels before making the right read to pa s or score. He shot 46.6 percent from 3 over the final two months of the season and showed he can be a disruptive on-ball defender despite his small frame at 6-feet, 172 pounds.EJ Liddell, Ohio StatePlays like:PJ TuckerLiddell is a prime candidate for the uppercla smen who slides on draft night but will make an immediate impact in the league. As an undersized big man at 6-foot-7, Liddell is a two-way player with crafty offensive skill, sneaky athleticism and a long 7-foot wingspan.Liddell improved every year over his three seasons at Ohio State, averaging 19.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game as a junior. Most importantly for his transition to the NBA, Liddell developed as a 3-point shooter each season, knocking down 37.4 percent of his attempts this past year.Liddell has all of the makings of a versatile power forward or small-ball center in today's NBA and as a 21-year-old, he'll be ready to slide into a team's rotation right away. Christian Braun, KansasPlays like:Pat ConnaughtonBraun was the perfect glue guy for Kansas' National Blank Jersey Championship team and his winner's mentality would be an a set to any NBA franchise. The junior forward made his impact felt as a versatile defender, aggre sive rebounder, active cutter and solid perimeter shooter. He's extremely athletic and plays hard-nosed defense, using all of his 6-foot-7, 209-pound frame to get physical with his matchup.Braun is a plug-and-play-type player who could fit on any roster. He'd be a great fit for any team late in the first round that needs a 3-and-D guy who can help fill out a rotation.MarJon Beauchamp, G League IgnitePlays like:Jerami GrantBeauchamp is an athletic forward who can score in a variety of ways. Measuring at 6-foot-7 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, the Ignite product has the size and length that every NBA team is looking for in a versatile wing these days.Beauchamp averaged 15.1 points per game in his first profe sional season, doing the majority of his damage as a cutter or by running the lane hard in transition. He's a confident shot creator but could benefit from fine-tuning his jumper to truly thrive in a 3-and-D role at the next level. Since he did attend Junior College before joining the Ignite, Beauchamp is a bit older as he'll turn 22 before the start of next season. But he'd be an a set for any team looking for a high-energy player who can rebound and defend multiple positions.Christian Koloko, ArizonaPlays like:Mitchell RobinsonKoloko was one of the best defenders in the country this past season, taking home Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors. Coming in at 7-feet tall with a 7-foot-5 wingspan, Koloko has the size and length of a prototypical rim protector, but he's also a plus-athlete with the mobility to provide some switchability on the perimeter. He flashed improved touch out of the post over his three seasons at Arizona and with his verticality, he'll be a lob threat from the dunker spot or out of the pick-and-roll. The Cameroonian prospect is said to have primarily played soccer until he was 15, so he's still developing as a basketball player every year. He could be a diamond in the rough for any Bartolo Colon Jersey team in the late-
